The summer season is often synonymous with construction season for utilities, and Liberty Massachusetts is no exception. With the warmer weather here, it is the ideal time to replace old gas mains as part of our multi-year Gas System Enhancement Program, a state initiative aimed at replacing leak-prone pipe. With this year’s construction season picking up, we want to remind customers and “passersby” in Fall River and surrounding areas that the work we are doing is crucial to maintaining the safety, integrity, and reliability of our natural gas distribution system.

Currently, work is focused on Columbia and Bedford streets in Fall River, as well as other parts of our service area. We recognize these projects may cause some inconvenience for residents, businesses, and commuters, and we will do our best to minimize disruption.

To keep our customers and the general public informed about where our construction work will be taking place, Liberty posts weekly updates to the Construction Notification section of our website. This page can be accessed via the homepage of www.libertyenergyandwater.com or through the posts on our social media pages.

All of our construction work is performed in compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and all projects are subject to Department of Public Utilities oversight. We also work closely with local municipal officials to coordinate our work with the city’s infrastructure improvement projects, such as new water and sewer mains and road reconstruction, to minimize disruptions.

If customers or residents have questions about the construction work taking place in 2023, Please contact Liberty Customer Care at 1-800-544-4944.
